I see red

i-see-red

05.31.08 – For this piece, I used a manual extension tube for the macro shot. Colored contact lenses and food coloring. The picture was resized in Photoshop. No other cropping/manipulation was done.

Strobist info: 1 Sigma flash bounced to the ceiling to get that specific catch light on the red droplet.

Iloilo Government Website Infringes on Copyright

It’s one thing for the media to steal your photos, and another thing for the government, who should know the law regarding copyright infringment, to delete your watermarks and not credit you for your photos. It is kinda funny though if you think about it… the newspapers and the government website could’ve simply avoided long infringement issues and court cases should they have taken a couple of minutes to ask for permission. Oh well.. whatever floats their boat. Poop Poop Poop

Visayan Daily Headlines violates photographers copyright

It seems that Anton Sheker is a favorite of copyright infringing papers from his still pending case with Manila Bulletin, The News Today, and now the Visayan Daily Headlines. Either he’s got a page somewhere that’s very easy to find, he’s very good at what he does, or both. I’m still waiting for his last expose.

The News Today violates photographer copyright – erases watermarks

News about media companies stealing from individuals always amuse me. It seems that for editors, journalists and artists who study for at least 4 years to get a degree, you would somehow expect them to have taken a small subject on ethics. Poop

Portraits are a hit and miss thing for me. Either I make it, or I don’t. I feel that there are so many factors to consider that I wouldn’t be able to nail it all together. More

I started looking for my photos and works to put on my portfolio just to find out that my hard drive does not have them all. Still looking for my other works… this is proving to be a little difficult. Oh well…

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

This 166 minute epic by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac) follows the life of Benjamin Button who was born old and grows younger each year.

Quite frankly, I can’t find one bit in the film which I didn’t like. The movie was executed well. The CG was VERY subtle and everything looked believable. The lighting was perfect and the cinematography was just absolutely awesome.  Fincher’s attention to details and attempts at experimentation is way ahead a lot of other directors.

If you enjoy a good film, I would highly suggest that you go see this movie. This is something you shouldn’t miss.

Site finally up!

After quite some time, I’ve been content on working on my multiply account with no working domain whatsoever and it’s worked out quite well. However, having my personal site on my personal domain would be more comfortable to me.

I’ve started blogging since 1999 and all the sites are now down. We’ll see how long this blog would stand. Wink
