J.an.ry 2.0

I shot my friends last month for their birthday celebration. It’s their second event and I’m glad that they chose me to shoot them again for their second annual celebration. It’s always fun working with them. We had a lot of fun.

Jollibee Vintage Toys

This is a mid-late 80’s interlocking Jollibee train set that came along with their kiddie meals.

My sister found this last week. I may have played with a couple of them because of the grime and dirt; but I’m not entirely sure if I even got to play with these at all because some of them were still sealed.

I decided to take a picture of these in all its glory — grime, dust, dirt and all for posterity’s sake. Washing these might take the paint off or something.

Light info: 1 light camera right and a small white card fill on the left. shot at F/16, 1/160, ISO100

This picture was supposed to be used for an ID that turned into a glamor type portrait. I guess I’m just looking for reasons to shoot.

The set-up was fairly easy — 1 softbox on top and 1 reflector below to bounce the light. 1 softbox to light the background to make editing easy.

Personally, I think that the exposure is around +1/3, give or take, on the highlights. With some make up and what not this would’ve been perfect.

Had some free time today to do an exercise. This one’s probably one of the most challenging table top photography I had to do because of the set up. But it gets easy once you get the hang of it.

I was in my prof’s seminar today to help out as his assistant called in sick. It was the third and last day of his seminar so there was also the customary class picture. More

Punta De Uian take 2

Punta De Uian Main Hotel/Lobby

We went back up to Punta de Uian today, April 7, 2009, to shoot some more new rooms — the duplex and the triplex as content to their site. There’s also the unfinished chapel which is a shame because I wanted to take a shot of the interior. However, the place is not yet done and there are ‘x’ marks on the glasses still and what not.

Now, I’m still clueless which photography specialty I would like to really get into but it seems that real estate photography is nice. I like the challenge of using flash and the ambient light, you should be able to balance the 2 to get a well-lit photo. Being creative is key to getting the proper set up and I love the challenge it gives. Camera

Shirts.ph at Shoptalk with Pia Hontiveros

It seems that Shirts.ph is getting a lot of publicity this year. This time, it’s Pia Hontiveros who plugged the shirts at her show Shoptalk for their April Fools’ edition. The other guest is Kuya Mau of Maupets. I was surprised to find out that he also worked in Batibot. That, in itself, is something that I give instant respect to. Sitting alongside somebody who worked at a show that I’ve watched when I was young gives me a full circle kind of feel. Smile

Pia Hontiveros is a very nice lady and easy to get along with. The staff and crew were also kind to us so big props to them. Clap

Went to Zambales last week to shoot a resort. It was just an overnight stay and there were lots of stuff to cover so we had to move quick. There wasn’t much fun to be had, but it didn’t mean that we didn’t have any fun at all. More

Jose Nepomuceno take 2

It’s fun working with Jose Nepomuceno and I’m grateful that I get to shoot his and his friends’ creations once again. It’s been a fun and tiring day of shooting and by the end of the day, most of us never had any energy left. I hope that I get to work with him again.
